re: [INFO] Raid Times and Rules - Updated Jan 2011

Regular 10-player raids. (which is all we do at the moment with a handful of heroic bosses thrown in)

SUNDAY, Main Raid 6:45ish invites and start when filled
MONDAY, unfinshed content or GUILD Achievements<open>

Members and Guests alike can expect us to start when we say we are going to, then to conduct the raid as efficiently as possible, and then to end after a reasonable amount of time. We are going to raid responsibly and not waste each others' time; we will use "necessary" AddOns and Ventrilo, and will adapt and accomodate as many players as possible, and tweak group compositions and adjust strategies as needed.

"But my guild did it this way... Well, your guild sucked, which is why you're in my guild." -Sebudai (Juggernaut)

All can expect that loot distribution will be as fast and as fair as possible to everyone in attendance, based on a Master Looted mixture of Member NBG, /roll, and Loot Council as a last resort.

WT doesn't have loot whores... we have regular whores, and they are all well paid.

Loot: We are going to spread the drops around; so if one is unlucky on the dice rolls, or happens to be high rolling, it is going to even out. So far in the groups we've been with, everything has worked fairly well. When one is awarded a drop, they will usually wait "at the back of the line" until the "rest have been served." Some nights, there is alot to roll on, and at other times there will be very few upgrades which make this harder to enforce. Therefore, we hope that everyone in attendance is sensitive to the fact that there are "rarer" or "priority" drops for those who are experiencing a "loot drought," and will pass to them for the good of the raid; while those who were "passed to" will, in kind, defer to others on the other general drops.

All must understand that raids are the management of scarcity, not abundance, and we must be mature enough to be happy for those who get something, and content when we, ourselves, do not.

Do not come to raids expecting this or that drop to be yours, and you will not be disappointed.

Disenchanting: We will not disenchant an item if it is usable by someone in attendance (even if it is for an off-set), and Enchanters may not claim "need" for their profession.

BOE Loot: CHARACTERS on the Raid get Top Priority, and may claim "NEED" for MAIN spec only (ie, the function they are performing on the raid most of the time). IF it is not an upgrade for the role they are currently playing, or is a "side-grade" for an "off set" or an "alt" they must roll "greed" along with everyone else.

Whoever wins the "greed roll" may do with it as they please.

Overbooked: There is no "FCFS" unfortunately, and we actually want slightly more than 10 to sign up, so that we have alternates if something goes wrong and players don't show on time or someone leaves early or gets raid-kicked. And to start multiple or Alt raids.

- Tank and Healer roles are filled first, DPS spots are filled second
- Volunteers to step aside for the night (or fill a tank or healer role)
- Who will attend the most, over the course of the instance clear
- Who needs upgrades the most; or is getting "left behind" in progression
- Which character is best to have along for the good of the raid

***

It is important to have at least ONE highly developed character from here on out, at least until the next level cap raise.

Thanks. Last update 09/12

re: [INFO] Raid Times and Rules - Updated Jan 2011

This needs hammered home; "casual raiding guild" doesn't mean "anything goes" or that 20 players can make up the slack for 5 others. It means that "Raiding is optional (not mandatory to remain guild tagged) with us." And this should be liberating to everyone, instead of seeming "restrictive"- since we all have extra freedoms here which very few other guilds can provide.

Credibility is the only currency which players of any guild will ever have in an MMORPG, because, we are our reputations and those of everyone else who shares our tag.

There are certain standards of play which we all have to review from time to time; it is the same tacit "dotted line" commitment for everyone who is "keeping up on" sports, music, politics, technology, or recent events in general. No one is omniscient, especially not with regards to WoW, and we all have to re-learn the game (seemingly) every other patch, as Blizz tinkers with both game content _and_ mechanics and formulas.

Everyone reading this has the capability to better prepare for raids and to succeed versus any given encounter every single time, automatically. We have the chemistry and talent to beat the top content quickly, but such graces and "player synergies" do not create nor maintain themselves...

For that, we need each other.

re: [INFO] Raid Times and Rules - Updated Jan 2011

This thread should probably be updated for late 2011 into early 2012, and we will compare notes soon either here or on Ventrilo. I can either edit or delete the Original Post, and have our present GL and Officers draft a new one to replace this one.

Marilyn and I happen to be planning our wedding now and we expect to have a busy October-November.

Just lemme know! Thanks
